General Note
This Czech version of Moby Dick, abridged for youth by Karel Vach and illustrated by Antonin Machourek, was published serially over four issues of Raná Setba, a youth serial. According to the back covers, Raná Setba was published in ten issues each year on the 15th of the month. These four issues are numbered 6, 7, 8, and 9-10; each issue consists of a few unnumbered pages of unrelated stories and games before and after the consecutively numbered pages of Moby Dick; issue 6 contains a title page for Biĺa v́elryba containing title, author, illustrator, and publication information.
General Note
The publisher also issued this title as a non-serial work, in a single volume with illustrated boards and with the same pagination, in 1941.

This serial version of Moby Dick is "unique in that Machourek's works are the first Czech illustrations to accompany Melville's tale. The 1933 and 1941 Czech translations reproduced Rockwell Kent's illustrations." --Bookseller's note.
